The
squirrel monkey, found in South American tropical rain forests,
along with Costa Rica and Panama, is less than a foot long. In the
wild, it eats flowers and fruits, as well as lizards, birds, eggs,
and insects.
Squirrel monkeys
like to stick together. Groups of 200 or more have been reported
in the Amazon basin, but groups of 20 to 30 are probably more the
norm.
