Patas
monkeys live in equatorial Africa, from Senegal to Ethiopia, Kenya,
and Tanzania. The patas is related to the guenon, but is unique
in that it prefers to live on the ground. They eat fruit, leaves,
tree sap, insects, lizards, and birds' eggs. One interesting fact
about patas monkeys is that, in their groups, the female is dominant.
The male only joins the group during breeding season.
