This
species is one of the largest of all monkeys. They range through
West central Africa, southern Cameroon, equatorial New Guinea, Gabon
and Congo. They roam the forest floor during the day and sleep in
trees at night.
Their food consists
mostly of fruit, seeds, fungi, roots, insects and small vertebrates;
they will also eat grass. Daughters
stay with the mother¹s troop while males usually leave their
natal troop around adolescence.
