Dall's Porpoise
This
porpoise is the fastest swimmer of all cetaceans, having very slippery
skin and a muscular tail. This species is found only in the North
Pacific, travelling in herds of 10 to 20. It is named after the
American scientist, William Healey Dall, who studied it 125 years
ago. The Dall's Porpoise is stock, growing to a length of 7 ft.
and weighing in at 480 lb. It is black, with a white patch on its
belly.
